Characteristics
- Prevents water, oil and other liquids from penetrating the textiles.
- Because it is relatively stable against mechanical and chemical influences the effect is permanent.
- Particularly suitable for first time finishing or refinishing of sportswear and rainwear, protective clothing in industries, rescue services and fire brigades and for stain protection on outer clothing.
- Becomes active at textile temperatures of 40 °C at the end of the drying period. Good beading effect and water pressure resistance and chemical protection (Type IV DIN 32763) starting at 60 °C.
- Breathability and water vapor transport of the textiles are not influenced by the finishing.
- Free of PFOA (Perfluorooctanoic acid) and PFOS (Perfluoroctane sulfonate).
Application
Clothing textiles are best finished using the dip-roll-method during the last rinse cycle in a wash-spin machine.
Large surface textiles, such as awnings, sails, tent squares or upholstery materials can be treated by spraying with HYDROB EASYDRY.
1. Dip-roll-method
Fill machine to at least 70 % loading capacity but do not overfill; as possible put together batches with similar textile structures. Do not treat cotton textiles together with synthetics or blended fabrics. Warm finishing bath in liquor ratio 1:3 – 1:4 to 30-40 °C and roll for 5-7 minutes.
After the finishing, spin for 2 minutes. Spin membrane textiles (fire brigade, anoraks, ski clothing) in multiple intervals (1 minute spin, 1 minute roll, 1 minute spin).
Dry at full heating capacity. The temperature required for the effect to take place is reached when a minimum of 60 °C can be measured for 5 minutes on the drum thermometer. If 80 °C is required then it must be measured for at least 7 minutes.
2. Spray method
On spread out, cleaned, large surface textiles spray approx. 100 ml/m2 of a 50 % solution of HYDROB EASYDRY and let dry. Inhalation of the aerosol must be avoided when applying the spray method. Thereafter warm to 30-40 °C with warm air. Another increase in effectivity will follow after a certain time frame has elapsed. It is recommended to determine the required amount for each article by testing beforehand.
Dosages and drying temperatures
Type of goods | ml/l (ml/kg) | °C |
---|---|---|
Outer clothing, Sport and rain clothing | 5-10 (20-40) | 40-60 |
Fire brigade clothing*, Chemical protection* | 15-25 (60-100) | 60-80 |
For types of goods marked with an * the dosage listed applies for first time finishing. For after treatment, depending of the washing procedure, only about a quarter of this amount is necessary.
The actual amount required must be suited to prevailing conditions. Follow care labeling in textiles, a finishing bath in liquor ratio of 1:3 to 1:6 must be observed.
Storage and dispatch
HYDROB EASYDRY should be stored between +5 and 30 °C.
After longer frost periods warm to 20 °C and stir before use.
Tightly seal container after each removal. Use product within 24 months after delivery.
